Times they are a changing

Some thoughts from one of our Team members on the current situation.

Kellie Criddle-Nicol

No doubt, none of us expected to be where we are today.  This new normal that surrounds us has affected each and every one of us somehow.

At Latitude Jewellers, we are adapting to the ever changing rules and social requirements.  Pia had to make the tough decision to close our store front, this was made purely to keep the team safe.  We would always have a lot of overseas and interstate tourists come through and she didn’t not want to put anybody at risk. So, for now our front door remains closed….

Unless you call us for an appointment, we are happy to accommodate one on one consultations. Safer for you and for us. We have quite a few customers that like to call us, which we love, and we will send you as many photos and ideas as we can until you find the perfect gift for yourself or your loved one.  Custom makes are quite often done this way as we like to keep our clients informed through out the entire process.

So while some of us are working from home, we will have a very small team at the store most days. There is still jewellery to be repaired, custom makes to be designed and made and jewellery being bought. We are still here to help you with all your needs.

The changes for me personally have been mainly being based at home. My husband has been working from home for the last 7 years as I did when I lived in America and also with a few jobs I have held in Australia. So I am familiar to the changes required.  I do miss being surrounded by our amazing team and beautiful jewellery, (not to mention Pia’s singing and the teams jokes and laughter) and of course our wonderful customers.  But I know we will be back there all together again.

I also now have time to work on a lot of the behind the scenes things that keep Latitude Jewellers ticking over, as we are not just a Jewellery Shop, but a Manufacturing Jeweller, which keeps us all very busy.  It has been disappointing not to have the Flotsam and Jetsam Exhibition, but trust us when we say we are doing our best to make this happen, one way or the other.

I feel we are very lucky to be living here in Australia at the moment, and love seeing and hearing all the positive stories that are out there amongst the anxiety and stress. We know times are tough, but we also know that things will get better.  And then we cannot wait to see you again in store.

Stay Safe

Kellie
